DATES: Dates can be assumed to be accurate. C1850 means that I have not found accurate date information. No second date for an entry signifies either that the community is still in existence or a lack of information as to the date of its demise.
FOUNDER/ LEADER: Name of key figure in the formation of the community.
GRID REF: The location grid references are as accurate as I could make them. In the the case of sites I have personally visited they are almost spot on. Others only give an approximate location. Location Unknown means either I don't know the location, or nobody knows where they were.
